Tranquil Acres is an experience like no other.

how it works:

When you pull into Tranquil Acres, you will find plenty of parking. There are over 2,000 lavender plants on the farm. Mature plants are distilled and products are made with the essential oil and hydrosol.

We have an upper fenced in garden which is just under 2 acres, with every vegetable you could imagine. Follow the Enter sign and you’ll be at the garden. We have snips and some baskets, but feel free to bring your own if you wish. You may want to bring gardening gloves, raincoats, mucks, etc. Dress for the weather, and remember bugspray and sunscreen.

Introduce yourself to us!

Yes, even if you came last year. Yes, even if you came last week. Remembering is hard sometimes. We are always in the garden and would love to chat with you, help you with picking or recipes, get garden tips from you, show you around. You will be able to go up and down all of the rows picking what is ripe and you would like to eat.

We have a flag system in place!
On the sign for each vegetable will be a flag to direct your picking. Red, yellow, and green flags.
Red means stop. Do NOT pick here. It’s not ready.
Yellow means caution. Some are ready and some are not in this row. Ask for help if you are not sure.
Green means go. Pick here. All or most of the produce in this row is ripe.

Walk through the garden and look at what we have; watch how much it has grown since the last time you were here.

Garden Rules

Pick what you need for your family. Pay what you can afford. Be kind. There is a FREEWILL DONATION box on the outside of the garden fence. We won’t tell you what to put in. You decide. How much food did you get? What does that food cost? Did you also make friends? And find a new recipe? Only you know what that is worth and only you know what you can afford.

Everyone is welcome!

There are other ways to enjoy Tranquil Acres while you are here. We have nature trails through the woods. You and your families are welcome to stroll through the woods on our trail system. Children must have permission from their parents.

You can paint a rock to add on to Callie the Caterpillar, which winds through the nature trail. You can pack a blanket and a
cooler and have a picnic with your friends and family. You can laugh and talk and lie in the grass and look at the clouds… in a safe green space… where EVERYONE IS WELCOME. Sometimes it’s best to slow down our lives and prioritize what is important.

It is important for us to make healthy non-GMO chemical free food available to all. You will come here happy and leave even happier. Guaranteed.

And there’s more!

There is also another 2+ acres fenced in garden in the lower field. There are fruit trees here, as well as all of the winter squash and pumpkins. Raspberries and blackberries are here as well.

We have purchased two golf carts for those who struggle with mobility. It’s a lot of walking!

We also have a portapotty with hand sanitizer, should you need it.

We have planted many native pollinators for the bees and the butterflies. You will be able to enjoy them during your nature
walks, and pick some flowers to take with you! The pollinators are really the heavy lifters in this operation.

We ask that you please respect the earth, the plants, the animals, and the property while you are here. This is our home and the garden is our grocery store.

Every Monday throughout the season we have reserved for special people with special needs. If this pertains to you, reach out and we will schedule a time for you to come with just your group/family on a Monday. If this is something you need, you know. If you need the garden for yourself and your family… Monday is the day…Special Day for Special People. Just call!

ALL KIND HUMANS ARE WELCOME HERE. ALL.

We are all connected in this world. All of us. Every person, animal, living thing, the sun, the soil, the moon, the seas…each of us just a strand in the web of life. Each of our impacts rippling far and wide.

In the words of Chief Seattle, “All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.”

Here at Tranquil Acres, we try every single day to make a positive impact in the web of life. It’s going to take all of us. We invite you to join us in this endeavor.

Digging for potatoes, eating peas in the garden, the giggles & sharing of recipes & the smell of the earth.
Talk of the old days & Grandpa’s farm.
